Urooj is passionate about helping adults with a range of mental health issues, particularly those who are trying to navigate through the complexities of their traumatic past (Flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, fear, despair, anger, guilt, shame, insomnia) with a focus on building strength and resilience.
A significant barrier to seeking help for individuals with complex trauma is the fear of having to verbalise their painful past experiences. In her practice, together you will take a gradual approach, avoiding rushing into discussing distressing memories. Urooj uses a highly compassionate and structured tri-phase trauma model that focuses on establishing safety & stability before delving into emotionally charged aspects of your trauma/PTSD.
Urooj believes in taking a holistic and integrative approach to mental health care, recognising that your mental health is intertwined with every aspect of your life. To her therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. Each person is unique, with their own distinct personality, background, and life experiences. This individuality is at the heart of how she approaches counselling and therapy. Urooj performs comprehensive assessments to fully understand each client’s unique needs before creating a personalised treatment plan tailored to meet their specific goals and challenges.
Her goal is to create a safe, compassionate and supportive environment where you feel held and empowered to take charge of your healing and growth.
*Clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, particularly those from South Asian and Muslim communities, are highly encouraged to reach out for an informal chat on culturally-sensitive counselling offered in languages other than English.
Urooj is a member of the BACP and a Graduate Member British Psychological Association. Her fees start from £75 per 50 mnute session.
