Tamara Bathgate

Tamara is a compassionate and experienced therapeutic counsellor, working with adults in person, online or by phone. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follows their professional standards and ethical code.

Taking the first step toward counselling can feel daunting. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief or feeling stuck in life, Tamara believes you don’t have to face these challenges alone. Her approach is caring, client-centred and non-judgemental, creating a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

Tamara specialises in psychotherapeutic counselling, helping clients understand how past experiences influence current patterns of thinking, feeling and relating. Together, you will explore recurring struggles, challenging emotions and relationships that may not feel fulfilling. Her goal is to help you gain insight into the roots of your difficulties and discover practical ways to move forward with clarity and confidence.

You don’t need to have a clear “goal” for counselling to begin. Sometimes, just feeling stuck or sensing that something isn’t quite right is enough. Tamara’s role is to listen, reflect and support you in uncovering your own solutions that feel authentic.

Initial Consultations & Getting Started
Tamara offers a free 20-minute telephone conversation to help you determine if her counselling style is the right fit. Following this, she offers a 50-minute initial consultation at half price, during which you can explore the issues you want to address and discuss your preferred approach, whether a set number of sessions or a more flexible, exploratory plan. These sessions provide an opportunity to ask questions, understand what to expect and feel confident in taking the next step.

For a standard 50 minute counselling session, Tamara charges £60.
