Katie is a warm and compassionate therapist with a special interest in women’s mental health and wellbeing.
By offering a calm and judgement-free space, Katie can support you to explore what’s going on in your life, reconnect with who you are at heart, and become better equipped to deal with life’s ups and downs.
Areas of work
Katie understands many of the challenges and life transitions that women often go through, and how these changes can impact identity and self-esteem.

She has a particular interest in neurodivergence, and has completed a specific training course to better support clients who have – or think they may have – adult ADHD.
As a trauma-informed therapist, Katie has worked at depth with people who have experienced significant trauma, both during childhood and later in life.
Katie works with adults (18+) and her areas of work include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma
- ADHD
- Relationships
- Pregnancy/parenting challenges

How Katie works
Katie's therapy approach is both collaborative and empowering. As well as supporting you to manage any immediate distress, she hopes to help you build more self-understanding, and develop coping tools for the future.
Katie is an integrative therapist, which means that she uses a variety of counselling theories and techniques. Sometimes this involves focussing on the present, while at other times it may be useful to examine patterns from the past to see how they might still be impacting you today.
Although it is impossible to judge whether a therapist is a good match from just a photo and a few words, Katie hopes this gives you a flavour of who she is. Research consistently shows that therapy works best when a client and therapist have a good relationship – so finding the right person to talk to is paramount!
Previous life
Before training as a therapist, Katie worked for many years as a health and social care journalist and in charity PR and communications. Consequently, she knows what it is like to work in high pressure environments, and how hard it can be to juggle multiple competing responsibilities both at work and at home.
