Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change? Perhaps you’re struggling in your relationship, questioning your drinking or substance use, or finding that the ways you’ve always coped simply aren’t working anymore.
Ali is an experienced integrative therapist offering a warm, confidential and non-judgemental approach to therapy. She works with individuals and couples, with particular experience in anxiety, relationship difficulties, addiction and problematic alcohol or substance use, as well as neurodiversity.
Couples Therapy
Relationships can become stuck in cycles of arguments, criticism, defensiveness, withdrawal or resentment. You may feel as though you’re having the same argument repeatedly, communication has broken down, or you’ve become emotionally disconnected from one another.
Ali works with couples experiencing communication difficulties, loss of trust, emotional distance, recurring conflict and significant changes within their relationship.
Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, you will look at what is happening between you. Together, you will identify the patterns that keep causing difficulties, understand what sits underneath your reactions to one another and develop healthier ways of communicating.
Where there has been hurt or a breakdown in trust, therapy can provide a safe and neutral space to talk about what has happened and decide what you both need from the relationship moving forward.
Couples therapy isn’t only for relationships at breaking point. Some couples come because they recognise that something has changed between them and want to address it before resentment or distance becomes harder to repair.
Individual Therapy
You don’t need to be in crisis or have everything figured out before coming to therapy. You may simply know that something doesn’t feel right.
Therapy can help you understand why certain situations, relationships or emotions affect you so strongly and recognise patterns that may have developed over many years.
Ali has particular experience supporting people whose relationship with alcohol or substances has become problematic. You don’t need to identify as having an addiction to seek support. We can explore what the behaviour is doing for you, what may be driving it and how you can begin to make sustainable changes.
Her approach is collaborative and tailored to you. You start with what’s happening in your life now and work together to understand what may be keeping you stuck, what you would like to change and how you can begin moving forward.
Ali offers a free 15 minute telephone consultation.
Please contact Ali if you would like to discuss your therapeutic needs.
All sessions last 50 mins and are charged at £70 for individuals and £90 for couples
