Adolescent Counselling at The Practice
Supporting Young People Through Life’s Challenges with Compassion and Expertise
As a parent or carer, discovering that your child or teenager is struggling emotionally or psychologically can be deeply distressing. At The Practice, we understand how overwhelming this can feel and we’re here to help. Our dedicated team of qualified child and adolescent therapists are experienced in supporting young people and their families through a wide range of emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges.
Why Adolescent and Child Counselling Matters
Child and adolescent counselling provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for young people to explore their thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Like adults, children and teenagers can experience deep internal struggles whether due to trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem or life transitions. Counselling helps them make sense of their feelings and develop the tools they need to cope, communicate and thrive.
Our approach is compassionate and collaborative. Therapy sessions empower young people to build resilience, grow their self-confidence and find healthier ways to express themselves and navigate life’s challenges.

- Bullying (including cyberbullying)
- Social media and online pressures
- Emotional, physical, or sexual abuse
- Trauma and PTSD
- Substance misuse in the family
- Relocation or changes in family circumstances
- Mental health concerns such as depression or anxiety
Our goal is always to support not just recovery, but growth by helping young people move from surviving to truly thriving.
A Tailored Approach for Each Individual
At The Practice, we believe every young person is unique. That’s why we tailor each therapeutic approach to suit the child or adolescent's specific needs and circumstances. Our therapists use evidence-based techniques to help children and teens develop their own inner resources, learn emotional regulation skills and improve their ability to make healthy decisions.
We also support parents and carers throughout the process, recognising that healing often involves the whole family.
